Ride reminder texts

A bike bus rides on a schedule, and the one thing its organizer needs to know the night before is who is coming. These texts ask that question, and nothing else.

Operated by School Bike Bus LLC, a Georgia limited liability company, reachable at hello@schoolbikebus.com.

Text messages are not active yet. You can sign up now, but messages will begin only after carrier registration is approved and our messaging service is ready. Until then, please check with your bike bus organizer for ride updates and cancellations.

What these texts are

Once messaging is active, parents who opt in will receive an evening-before ride reminder with an RSVP link, plus schedule changes or cancellations for their bike bus. The reminder asks whether your family is coming, and you answer by tapping the link.

That is the whole program. No marketing, no other bike bus, no other subject. The sentence you agree to is exactly this one:

Text me ride reminders with RSVP links, plus schedule changes or cancellations for this bike bus.

Checking it is never a condition of joining a bike bus, and leaving it alone changes nothing else about your place on the roster.

Who sends them, and from what number

Texts come from SchoolBikeBus at (464) 245-3287. Your bike bus’s organizer never sends them and never sees your number unless you gave it to them for the roster.

Receive optional text messages from SchoolBikeBus at (464) 245-3287 about this bike bus only: an evening-before ride reminder with an RSVP link, plus schedule changes or cancellations. Message frequency varies with the ride schedule and updates; most bike buses ride once a week. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. SMS signup is not required to join.

How often

Frequency varies with the ride schedule and updates, for the one bike bus you signed up with. Most bike buses ride once a week, so most people get about one text a week during the school year.

If your bike bus rides twice a week you get two. If it pauses for the summer, you get none. A cancellation or a change to the schedule is its own message, so a week can carry one more than the rides alone would suggest. The rule is the ride schedule, which your organizer sets and you can see on your bike bus’s page.

Message and data rates may apply.

How to stop them

Reply to any message with STOP, END, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL or QUIT. Capitals and punctuation make no difference. We send one message confirming it, and then nothing.

Stopping the texts does not take you off the bike bus. You can still say whether you are coming on your bike bus’s page, the same way somebody who never turned texts on does.

Getting help

Reply HELP to any message, or write to hello@schoolbikebus.com. A person answers.

What we do with your number

We keep it to send these messages and for nothing else. It is never sold, never passed to anybody for their own marketing, and never published on a page a stranger can read.

A phone number you gave your organizer for the roster is a separate thing and is not enough on its own for us to text you. Agreeing to these messages is its own decision, recorded separately, with the date and the exact wording you were shown.
